The student left this project open to decide what would be done, so I made a Modular Building.
- This project began in Blender, where I carefully modeled each piece, trying to adhere to specific dimensions to fit the modular layout and some topology. I could have done better in the topography department. The connection of the door handles could have been done better.
- Next, I took the Door model into Zbrush to add more details to the handle. Zbrush was a challenge; the software confused me, and I needed more time to get used to its layout.
- Next, I took all of these models into Substance Painter, where I textured them. I had to use a combination of materials to get the desired result. The vibe I was going for was an older church with rough-looking windows and painted wood along the walls.
- Lastly, since this is a modular building, I imported the models and textures into Unity to make a Demo Scene.
Reflection-
I didn't put in the time that was required for this class. I learned lots of software like Zbrush, Maya, and Blender. But with such little time in each one, I didn't dive deeply into them. I also learned about the concept of "good topology" and tried to apply those concepts to the models I was making.
